  1. Dear Sean Lewis. I am working on a documentary about the first professional non-racial arts venue called The Space that opened its doors in Cape Town early in 1972. Through the telling of this story we aim to celebrate the arts and highlight the importance of every individuals right to a creative freedom of expression. We have just come back from filming in South Africa to pick up some extra interviews with artists like Fatima Dike who was the resident playwright at The Space, Dr. John Kani who devised Sizwe Banzi is Dead and The Island for The Space with Winston Ntshona and Athol Athol Fugard and Pieter-Dirk Uys whose satirical work is well known in South Africa and beyond.
I visited your site because I am looking for photos and wanted to ask if we could use any of these (above) for our documentary? Having read your "About Me" it is clear you are passionate about the arts and their importance in our society so I hope you can find the time to get in touch with me via this address > mark@thespacetheatre.com

I hope to hear from you soon.

    Sincerely

    Mark
